SEFtec installs suriname’s first BOSIET facility at Staatsolie site

Kersten Training Academy has taken delivery of a SEFtec Modular Training Unit (MTU) at their facility on the Staatsolie site in Paramaribo, Suriname. The facility will be Suriname’s first OPITO-approved training facility, offering a wide range of courses, including BOSIET and HUET courses.

SEFtec has now installed and commissioned the MTU, which consists of:

  • Above-ground training pool with treatment skid and deck

  • HUET trainer (Helicopter Underwater Egress Trainer) with hoist and gantry

  • TEMPSC (Totally Enclosed Motor Propelled Survival Craft) and lifting davit

  • Heli-hoist trainer, with platform

  • Step-off platform

The facility has been built in response to a request from Staatsolie, the national oil company of Suriname, and constructed on their land, beside their refinery in Paramaribo. The facility will train Staatsolie staff as they prepare for the coming boom in oil production off the Suriname coast.
